Port of Tallinn invites companies to establish production facilities in Muuga Harbour

Port of Tallinn has launched a search for new cooperation partners and invites companies to submit business ideas for establishing production, logistics, circular economy or value-added industrial complexes in the Muuga Industrial Park.

“We would like to encourage companies to share their initial business ideas that could fit into our industrial park,” said Rene Pärt, Member of the Management Board and Chief Business Development Officer of Port of Tallinn. “Muuga Harbour offers a strategic location in Estonia’s largest cargo harbour, combining modern infrastructure, diverse transport connections, and the benefits of a free zone.”

Two undeveloped plots are available for potential developers: Klaukse tee 4 (2.4 ha) and Klaukse tee 6 (2.6 ha). Both plots have valid detailed spatial plans, necessary utility connections, and excellent access to the port infrastructure and transport networks.

“The plots are located at the intersection of sea, rail and road connections, offering a significant advantage to companies whose raw materials or finished products are partly transported by sea and for whom logistics costs play an important role in final pricing,” added Pärt.

Entrepreneurs are encouraged to express their interest by submitting an initial business idea by 28 November.

According to Rene Pärt, these are the last two available plots in Muuga Industrial Park for which negotiations with potential developers have not yet started. “Previous calls for interest have been successful – for example, following a similar search announced last spring, we signed an agreement with Jetgas, which will build a liquefied methane terminal on a 7.6-hectare site in the eastern part of Muuga Harbour,” he noted.

Port of Tallinn supports developers in implementing their business ideas, assisting in obtaining the necessary permits and developing infrastructure through its expertise and network. “We see that now is a favourable time to plan industrial investments, as Estonia has strategically prioritised supporting large-scale investments,” added Pärt.

Muuga Industrial Park, owned by Port of Tallinn, is a growing industrial area located within Muuga Harbour – Estonia’s largest and deepest cargo harbour. The industrial park covers a total of 76 hectares of variously sized and combinable plots. Its location offers companies modern infrastructure, frequent shipping connections with the Northern and Western Europe, rail and road links with neighbouring countries, and in the future, a connection to the Rail Baltica freight terminal.
Companies already operating in the area include the Estonian subsidiary of Belgian logistics group Katoen Natie  and AS Muuga Betoonelement.
