Estonian Railways received the “Deed of the Year” award

On February 22, a concert event celebrating the anniversary of the Republic of Estonia and a recognition event for Tapa Municipality took place at the Tapa Cultural Center, where Tapa Municipality highlighted good people and outstanding deeds.

Among the recipients of recognition was Estonian Railways, which received the Tapa Municipality “Deed of the Year” award for the renovation of the Tapa railway station water tower and depot, which delights both the city’s residents and train passengers.

“We are grateful for the notice and recognition! The renovation work on the Tapa water tower was extensive, and special thanks go to our talented team and partners. We are pleased that the water tower, which has become a small landmark of Tapa, has received a fresher look,” said Imre Reipõld, Head of Construction Services.

During the works that began at the end of 2023, the facade of the water tower was repaired and the depot building was conserved. To this end, the walls of the depot building were repaired and plastered, the openings were closed in a vandal-proof manner, and a waterproof roof made of rolled sheet metal and rainwater drainage were installed. The debris accumulated in the depot building and the collapsed part of the ceiling were also disposed of.
